Models Prefer Lipstick Swatches

Hello!

Recently I was at Priceline and saw these Models Prefer lipstick packs for $5 each. I bought both and decided to do a lipstick swatch post.

The lipsticks are a creamy formula and are amazing quality for around $1.70 each. The bright colours are very opaque and although the nude colours all kind of look alike, they are all incredible!

Anyway, onto the swatches:

Top: Heartbreaker, Forbidden Kiss, Va-va Voom
Bottom: Sweet Dreams, Kisschasy, Paparazzi Pink

There you go! Hope you liked these swatches and I would definitely recommend these, you can pick them up from Priceline!

L'Oreal Nude Magique Eau De Teint Foundation | REVIEW

Hello all!

Out of all makeup products, foundations are the most fun to try, as they’re the base for all other makeup, it’s amazing when you find one that works, it’s a dream. I have a lot of foundations (not too many, but more than the average person).

I thought I would begin reviewing my foundations, starting with the L’Oreal Nude Magique Eau De Teint. I hope you enjoy!

What it claims: A perfectly nude look, a flawless finish without the heavy make-up feel. With its lighter than water formula, Nude Magique Eau de Teint provides undetectable coverage while letting skin breathe for a fresh and flawless complexion. The velvety texture endlessly glides over skin, creating a perfectly natural look without the heavy make-up feel.

My Opinion: although L’Oreal is a drugstore brand, in Australia their products are about the same price as Benefit (online not at David Jones). This foundation is $24.99 RRP which you can find on sale for under $20, which isn’t overly bad. The foundation is packaged in a glass square tub (?) which is on the weighty side. The foundation is watery; you have to make sure to shake it before use. The foundation is super blendable and feels like a satin finish in the skin. Although it probably isn’t, it feels as though it’s letting my skin breathe. It’s extremely buildable, and can be a medium-high coverage. It suggests you tip it out onto your fingers and then swipe across your face but I think it’s better if you pour it out onto a palette. It just gives you more control. It does a fantastic job of covering redness.

I would recommend this foundation to people who want a non-cakey feeling foundation. It’s perfect for everyday wear and I think it would work best on dryer skin.

Hope you liked this review xx

Covergirl Ready, Set, Gorgeous Foundation + Concealer | FIRST IMPRESSION

Hello! For ages I have heard EleventhGorgeous rave about Covergirl’s new foundation “Ready, Set, Gorgeous!” It has just recently arrived in Australia and, as it was 50% off at Woolworths (and still is as this goes up), I thought I would pick up the foundation and concealer and do a first impression on them both!

Packaging

I personally hate when people talk about the packaging as to me it isn’t that important, but this tube is pretty cute and is perfect for travel! I love it when foundation isn’t in a glass tube as I am so clumsy and will probably drop one, one day.

What It Claims

The Foundation: One simple step for a flawless, natural look that lasts all day. The formula blends easily to even skin tone and reduces shine all day. It is oil free, won’t clog pores, and is suitable for sensitive skin.

The Concealer: Helps conceal dark circles and imperfections in an instant! The lightweight formula glides on smoothly, blends easily, and lasts all day. It is oil free, won’t clog pores, and is dermatologically tested.

My Review

Pls no judging for my non-matching eyebrow face
I picked up the shade 115 Buff Beige in the foundation which perfectly matches my skin tone, it has yellow undertones but isn’t orangey-the perfect shade! It’s in between a thick consistency and a thin consistency-also perfect. The foundation is definitely a medium coverage, and isn’t really buildable to a high coverage. I like this because it feels natural on the skin, still looks like skin but covers my acne well, which is a big thumbs up from me. I applied this with a sponge but I have to say I think it would be amazing applied with an applicator.

The concealer, which I got in the shade “Light, Pale” has a dofer applicator, which is my favourite for concealers. It’s a semi-thick look of a consistency but it is in between, like the foundation. It’s quite light but doesn’t cover huge dark circles, but it does a fair enough job. It blends well into my pimples well too, and covers up the redness of them. It has a natural finish and sinks into the skin a bit.

Overall

I would recommend this foundation as the natural, skin-like finish is perfect for all skin tones. The tube is perfect for travel and for $16.99 AUD RRP I would pick it up! As for the concealer, I would give it a miss as there are much better concealers out there.

Have a great day xx

Kmart Beauty Haul

Hey there! So, I went to kmart to find a bag. Just a bag. 1 hour later, I came back with reduced makeup, and quite a bit of it! This is a haul, and I am so excited to try out these products!

I think kmart may be getting rid of all their face of Australia products, as the entire range was reduced. I hope they replace it with NYX, or maybe even Milani (although I don’t know anywhere in Australia that sells Milani). Anyway, here’s what I bought!

Makeup remover wipes, and some more cotton pads! These are essentials and I always buy these cotton pads even though they get fluffy which I hate. But they’re $2 so what can I say? I’ve never tried these wipes though so hopefully they’re nice!

I picked up two different eyeliners, one liquid and one gel as my eyeliner collection is definitely nowhere near as big as any other part of my collection and I need to expand.

This loose translucent powder is raved about SO MUCH! I hope it lives up to my high hopes. I’m not a huge primer girl, despite wearing it every day, but I thought I’d give this a go anyway.

This eyeshadow quad in Gold Mine looked super cute and I love the brown shade in the top right hand corner. If these eyeshadows have nice pigmentation, it’d be great for travelling.

Well, that’s all! It’s not huge, I know, but I still felt like sharing!

Three Easy Hairstyles for the Lazy and Unorganized

Hey there! I don’t know about you guys, but I just don’t enjoy doing my hair. It gets really hot where I live and I usually end up just putting it up in a bun every day. Despite this, I came up with three EASY non-time consuming hair styles for the busy (or lazy) person.

Enjoy!

1.       The, I-really-don’t-care high pony!

This one is simple as pie (which tbh isn’t that simple. Why is this a saying?) Step one: grab all hair. Step two: push to the top of head and tie with a hairtie. Done.

2.       Take me as I am ‘do

Step one: wake up. Step two: leave house. Literally. Who cares what people will say? You know you’re already trash.

3.      The miley buns.

I think everyone knows who miley is and every body with long hair knows how to do these buns. Step one: separate hair in the middle. Step two: pull each side up into a bun. Step three: don’t care that they’re not even because “that’s the look you were going for…”

(This entire post is a joke, and a trainwreck for that matter. I don’t know anything about hair and literally never do mine. If you honestly do need hairstyle ideas click HERE.)

Have a wonderful week! x

February Favourites 2015

Hello all! Well it’s been ages since I’ve sat down and written a post as most of my last ones were queued. I’m sorry for the block in uploading, where I live had a cyclone and the power went down for about a week. Nonetheless, I’m back with my February favourites!

I bought quite a few things in January and so I thought I’d take the month of February to really test them out. I was on a spending ban during Feb (and was successful-yes!) so next month probably won’t have as my favourites.

The two brushes I have been loving this month is the Elf Blush Brush, which is the perfect size for dem cheekers, and the Real Techniques Powder Brush, this brush has honestly made my life 1000 times better. GET THIS BRUSH IN UR LIFE.

I also have two lipsticks, this Chichi lipstick in Checkin In, the perfect nude shade and Rimmel Kate Moss in 112 which is red with a brown undertone and makes you look fierce as ever.

This Anastasia Brow Pomade is literal heaven. I can’t believe that I never used to do my brows, now they’re an essential and I think I’d prefer to leave home with no mascara than no brows.

This Face of Australia Contour Kit I have owned for quite awhile, yet has only recently become my go-to. It sculpts the face nicely and is also amazing for bronzing, it’s limited edition, so I may still be available at some places but I’m not too sure.

This foundation was my first Mac purchase, I’m surprised as I thought it would’ve been a lipstick or concealer, this foundation is incredible! I don’t like to label things as holy grail unless I know I will never back out of it, but this foundation will probably become mine. I love L’Oreal True Match, yet I find its quite thick on the skin so I only like to wear it at night, this is the same coverage and is great day/night/any time of day. I currently have nothing bad to say about it.

Revlon Skinlights in Rose is an amazing highlight for cheekbones. It’s great in hot weather too, as it’s a liquid. It reminds me of the Nars Illuminator in Copacabana, but I’m not sure if it’s a dupe or not.

Well, there you have it, my Februrary favourites! I start Uni in a week and I’m slightly nervous but I’m sure it’ll be fine. Wish me luck!
