Taylor Swift Inspired | Style Steal

Hello!

If anyone reading this knows me, you know how much I love Taylor Swift. She is currently in Australia for the last leg of her 1989 tour and I’ve taken half an hour out of crying over the fact that I’m not attending her concert, to show some reinventions of my favourite outfits of hers.

Taylor has a very stylish, girly style and wears loads of coats. As it is Australian summer, and where I live it is easily up to 40oC every day, I didn’t want to wear coats (besides, I don’t even own any).

These are just a few of my favourites. I’m wearing Maybelline Colour Drama in Red Essential through the whole post.

Look #1

This is such a casual outfit, perfect for a shopping or coffee date. She’s wearing high waisted navy shorts, with a plain white singlet and a grey cardigan. The brown boots and red lips really top this outfit off.

This is my second favourite look of the bunch, it’s so simple and super cute. I would wear this anywhere (although it is a bit too hot).

My favourite outfit, not just because of Meredith, but because it’s summer appropriate. I will definitely be wearing this outfit often throughout summer.

Online Purchases | HAUL

Hey Guys!

As you probably know, or can assume: I LOVE ONLINE SHOPPING. It’s the absolute best, I mean sitting with no pants whilst buying things, is there anything better?

Recently I have collected a few things so I thought I’d share what I got.

Beauty Joint

This was my first purchase from BeautyJoint, despite spending hours at a time putting items into my cart. I’m quite weary when it comes to a new shop for the first time. However, obviously everything was fine and great and I think I am now addicted.

Shipping was super-fast, I live in rural Australia so I expect that parcels take time, especially when coming from the US, but this took around 2 weeks.

I picked up;

LA Girl Pro Conceal
Jordana Extreme Lash Mascara
LA Girl Matte Liquid Lipstick in Instinct
LA Splash Liquid Lipstick in Rose Garden
3 Elf Liquid Lipsticks

Asos

I’m addicted to Asos. I check it constantly, every day, as though it is another social media. They have so many brands and have such a huge range of prices and clothes. I love it.

I got:

This shirt was actually shorts, they sent me the wrong item from the set however, I don’t mind.

A white 70’s style crop with rusty edges.

This checked playsuit/pinafore. I should have looked at this better to see if I would actually wear it. Not sure if I would now that I have it-oh well.

A white and thin black striped dress, which by the way, already has a stain because I am a child and cannot eat properly.

Boohoo

Boohoo has been a little bit of a nemesis of mine in the past, their sizes are always so random! I wanted some skirts though, and these ones were cheap as chips.

I got this Cher from Clueless type one which I am actually in love with! I love the buttons.

I also picked up this mint green plaid one which is stretchy, but does fit well.

I’ve wanted a pair of culottes for so long ever since, StealTheSpotlight has raved about them so I bought this pair however, I just don’t think they look right on me, eh!

Well, there are some of my recent online purchases, what are your fave go-to stores?

November Favourites

Hey guys!

I’m so excited to be writing another favourites-it feels as though it’s been so so long, as I skipped a month. Despite that, I don’t even have a huge amount of favourites but let’s get into it.

Maybelline Hyper Sharp Liquid Liner

Holy crapola! If you struggle to do eyeliner flicks, this product will literally do them for you. It is so easy to use and creates a perfect line. Tip: wait for it to dry completely before blinking too much, it can transfer onto your lower lash line (easily fixable though, just get a thin eyeliner brush and brush it out).

Victoria’s Secret Strawberries & Champagne

I don’t wear perfumes. I mean, I didn’t even own any before this & I’m not sure why as when I put this on, I actually feel as though my outfit, makeup and hair are complete.

Jordana Blush in Coral Sandy Beach

I found all these Jordana products at a dollar store in NZ, so I thought I would try at least one, and I was not disappointed. I love blushes that are deeper pinks, such as this.

LA Girl Liquid Matte Lipstick in Bazaar

These liquid lipsticks are the bomb.com! I would say more… but something’s coming up.

Model’s Prefer Liquid Light Primer

The seasons have changed and in the southern hemisphere, it’s summer, and in my town it means it’s hot-SO HOT. I have had to change my primers up to something that will prevent my makeup sliding off my face, whilst feeling like I don’t have makeup on. This one is fabulous and does both these things well. Bonus: it also semi fills in pores-does it get any better?

Australis Tint My Brow

Brows are the one thing I always do. I have a routine down however; it’s always exciting to change up products. This brow tint has red undertones, which is great for some people however, I hardly notice them. I feel as though I can wear this alone, without filling my brows in before with a powder, and that’s how I know it’s a damn good product.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

BEST CONCEALER DOWN. Not kidding, I need to buy like 30 backups. It can be used alone, under eyes and even to cover acne. It’s the absolute best and I regret not buying more (but I will find them online somewhere, I’m sure). PS: sorry for my ugly hand.

Music Faves:

I’m about to do an entire post of all of my current favourite songs, so you can look forward to that (if you want to). But I will say, Love Me Like You by Little Mix is so good, you should take a listen.

Hope you liked! Xx

My Makeup Collection & Storage

Hello everyone!

Finally I have taken the photos that I have been meaning to take for months! This is my makeup collection, I can’t say I’m 100% happy with it, but for now it is okay.

I have this desk, which is from Officeworks. It has one pull-out drawer and a side open cupboard. There is a mirror over the top where I, you know, look at myself.

Desk: Officeworks. Mirror: Kmart. Chair: Big W.

Lipstick Holders: eBay. Palette Holder: The Reject Shop. Brush Holders: Kmart. Small Mirror: Kmart.

I separate my lipsticks by brands, as I find it’s easiest to find a particular lipstick.

I keep these little containers on top of the lipstick holders where I put eyeliners and lip liners.

Containers: Dollar Store (can’t remember which one).

I keep a bowl beside my eyeshadow palettes where I keep odds and ends. These things include; bobby pins, scissors, hairbands, earbuds and floss.

I love keeping my makeup brushes on my desk in these Kmart candle holders.

I have this reversible mirror where I keep my makeup sponges, and beside that, odd products that don’t fit anywhere.

And now, the drawer.

This is where I keep all my makeup, excluding eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks.

The layout for this is as shows:

That’s it! This is my makeup collection and storage, I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into my setup.

10 Things I Learnt from Year 1 of University

Things I Learnt During My First Year of University

I have recently completed my first year of Uni, I have learnt so much during this last year, not just school related so I thought I’d write a little post to show what I have learnt.

1) Referencing is so fucking important. Literally. Learn it. Breathe it. Live it.

2) Write the dates of when your assignments are due and stick them somewhere you’ll see them. It’ll be a constant reminder to get them done.

3) People, surprisingly enough, aren’t staring at you. Nope they don’t care you’re wearing no makeup. Yes, your outfit looks nice but they still don’t care. Focus.

4) Make heading for each paragraph you need or want to write about. This ensures you do everything and that you don’t stray from task.

5) Don’t stress about making friends quickly, it will eventually happen and if you worry about it, it’s just building more stress for yourself.

6) Make an effort before the week an assignment is due, you don’t want it to be the final week and you have four assignments due. Even 300 words is enough to make a difference. This still applies even if you know you’re able to do it last minute. (I’m still learning this).

7) It’s okay if you aren’t able to get out of bed in the morning so you miss a class. Sometimes, you just have days where you can’t get out of bed. Just try to make sure that you go 70% of your classes.

8) Most lecturers will help you, if you show effort and actually try before asking for help.

9) Textbooks can be a punch in the stomach, cost-wise. Don’t purchase them until you’ve been to your first class and have actually asked if you need it. Also, look up the textbook online to see if there is a free pdf file.

10)         I find thinking of the hours before an assignment is due, helps me to de-stress. This usually happens week four, so I will usually have six/eight weeks left.

Hope you liked this type of post! Follow if you want more posts like these.

A Thrift Haul

Whyyy hello there peeps!

Yesterday, Katie from stealthespotlight (one of my absolute fave aussie youtubers), uploaded a video of all her top trifting tricks.

I took this as a sign that I needed to visit the thrift stores. I have been thrift shopping a couple of times and they’ve either been
super successful, or a waste of a trip.

Today, I picked up a bunch of stuff and I thought I’d share it with you all.

I bought this plain black pleated skirt. It can be high waisted which I love and it was only $5, super bargain.

Another black skirt, which surprisingly looks similar to the first one. Also $5, also a bargain.

I bought this high waisted knee length skirt however I think I will hem it 2 inches as it comes a bit lower than my knee.

This camo shirt with faux leather sleeves is super casual for an everyday look if it were paired with jeans.

This shirt is huge and navy. I keep very low-key with my outfits and usually only wear black/white however, navy is always an exception.

This is a nice cream jumper; however it looks a bit yellow in this. It’s so comfy and I’m so excited to wear it.

Ugh I have so many shirts and I was so excited to find these pants. They were in a pile so I’m not sure if they were someone else’s but I think they just forgot to put it back.

This cream shirt has a collar that I love so fking much! A nice iron and this shirt will be good to go!

This is a navy shirt with white lines on the sleeves, and is from GAP. Not sure if it’s authentic but it still had a tag from GAP on there and it said the original price was $44.99, and I got it for $5.

Basic af dress that I think is still cute, nice long necklace and boots.

I know this throwover will be so great in summer as it is the thinnest material and a jacket can really make the difference to an outfit.

Right? Right! I found this shirt in the men’s section and it was $3, I’m as shocked as you.

Have a great day! Xx
