April Favourites

Hey guys its favourite’s time! I actually kind of struggled to think of what I was using a lot this month and what I have been loving a lot. Despite this, I did eventually find enough products that I love.

Onto the goods!

Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Concealer

This concealer’s formulation is semi-thick but is light in colouration which is fantastic for under my eyes. This concealer is a lot different than the foundation, as it has peachy undertones unlike orange like the foundation.

NYX Full Coverage Cream Concealer

This is the perfect concealer for pimples, it’s the perfect match for my skin and covers redness well.

Soap and Glory Solar Powder

This bronzer is THE BEST! I bought it from eBay as it isn’t available in Australia. This has two shade tones and mixed together this is the perfect bronzer to warm up the face.

Face of Australia Liquid Liner

This is the perfect liner if you want to learn how to use liquid liner formulations. It’s wet but dries quick, yet slow enough to have the ability to draw it correctly.

L’Oreal Brow Artist

Alert: fave products of the month! Everyone needs this product, I just hope they come out with more shades, THERE ARE MORE PEOPLE WITH EYEBROWS THAT ARENT JUST BLONDE OR BROWN!

Australis Lip Liner in Nude

I have been wearing this under most of lipsticks recently and it helps my lips to stay all day. It’s a perfect everyday shade.

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub

I love this scrub and when I don’t use it, my lips become so gross. When I run out I will try to make my own and see how it compares.

Rimmel Apocalips Velvet Shades

The formulations of these are amazing! They dry to matte but are still creamy. I adore these and really want to pick up the orange shade, but not sure if I’d wear it. I’d recommend getting some of these!

Well, those are my April Favourites! Hope you liked an d that you get some of these incredible products!

Next time xx

Top 10 Under $10 (Australian Beauty)

Hello there! In Australia, our makeup is massively overpriced, so it’s difficult to find things under $1o. However, I decided to do my 10 products under $10 anyway!

These products are amazing, and come in quite a big range so I hope you enjoy xx

BYS Eyeshadow Singles-$2 Each

These eyeshadows are incredibly pigmented! The 3 blue shades are all dried as I didn’t put them in palette straightaway and they sat there for about 2 years but the bronze shade is amazing! The empty palette is about $5 and these are very easy to find.

Face of Australia Liquid Liner-$8.95

This liner is so amazing! It dries fairly quickly, but no so quick that you have a bit of time to fix any mistakes, it dries semi-matte and lasts all day in place! I’ve been seeing this reduced at a lot of places recently so it might be discontinued soon.

ELF Eyebrow Kit-$8

This is available at Kmart for $8 or you can buy it on iHerb.com for about 3. The wax is amazing and is perfect for medium-full brows. It’s very buildable and is so affordable!

Maybelline Colour Drama Lip Pencils-$9.95

These are incredible! The shades have a wide range and these are on sale quite often! Nude Perfection is close to looking like Mac’s Velvet Teddy and for $10 that’s incredible! I think I will buy Orange Fab next because it looks so nice!

NYX Blushes-$9.95

These blushes have so much product in them and are very pigmented! They can be found at Target and Myer and are on sale fairly often on sale. These are probably my favourite blushes ever.

NYX HD Concealer-$7.95

I bought this from eBay but I assume they stock it at Myer and Target (although I cant find it on their website) this is an amazing concealer at hiding those “I was up studying until 2am” undereye circles and lasts all day!

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub-$9.95

This is my HG lip product, every day I go somewhere without using this, my lips dry up and it is so horrible. They become so sore that I think I need to buy another just for my handbag!

NYX Concealer Jar-$9.95

This concealer is perfect for hiding dark circles and acne! I use it before my foundation and it matches my skin so well! I know you can definitely find this at Target as that’s where I bought mine!

Essence Lip Liners-$2

These have incredible pigmentation and can be worn on their own, under lipgloss or under lipstick. Essence is known for being cheap but these lip liners definitely do give off that they were loose change cheap!

NYX Wonder Pencil-$8.95

This pencil is perfect for the waterline, and can even be used to neaten up brows! The creamy formulation is good when used on the waterline as it doesn’t hurt as much as a sharp pencil sometimes does.

Well there you are! These are my top10 under $10. I would recommend these to all and I hope you try some of these out! Xx

Alissas New Questions + My Answers:

They aren’t! It’s very rare that I paint my fingernails as im not allowed them for work, however, my toes are matte black.

We didn’t start the fire by Billy Joel

I wouldn’t, but if I HAD to, probably something like Mulan.

9. Who was your role model when you were young?
My sister has always kind of been my only role model, what can I say, I’m a loser!

10. Tea or coffee?
Coffee, although I do like both.

11. Knowing what you know now, what would you say to your 10-year-old self?
Do not care about people’s opinions, who don’t mean anything to you. Try everything.

I’m not too sure who to tag so whoever would like to do this tag, I tag you! (Also I tag Britt from Brittslittleblogs!)

My New Questions:

1.       What movie or TV show could you watch over and over?
2.       If you had to wear one lipstick for the rest of eternity what would it be?
3.      If you’re going out for a nice meal, what drink do you order?

11.    What is a staple clothing piece that everyone should own?

That’s all! Hope you liked x

Photos From the Trip | THE MELBOURNE FILES

As my recent post said, I just came back from Melbourne. I know I talk about mostly makeup on here but I sometimes like to throw a little bit of lifestyle in too.

Melbourne is such a beautiful place, in fact I could see myself living there one day. Mostly for the cute coats I would be able to wear. Although I was only there a few days, we still got quite a few things done.

Here are some pictures from: the zoo, southern star, scienceworks (the best), seeing Ed Sheeran, and just general driving around. Enjoy! Xx

ootd ft. ellie's leg kick & a distorted mirror.

Pretty sure the people in the next "star" were judging us for how many selfies we took. No shame.

dat blurry artistic shot tho.

baes <3
So sorry about the quality of some of these photos, I need a good way of sending pictures from my phone to my computer without using email (because that makes them pixelated).

Beauty and Fashion Haul | THE MELBOURNE FILES

I’m back from Melbourne, my trip was amazing but much too short! I will definitely be revisiting soon. I will have pictures up soon, but for now I have a haul!

I bought a bit, nowhere near as much as I had planned on buying but still quite a bit. I went to Mecca for the first time and only bought one thing (regrets) even though I had planned to buy the Naked Skin concealer, and Nars Creamy concealer.

Ellie and I went to Cotton On first. I’m not going to lie, I went crazy in there. There is a Cotton On in my town but everything (a lot of things) in this store was $2 and the store was HUGE! This is was I bought:

Next up is MAC and, surprisingly I only bought 1 thing. I think MAC lipsticks are basically cult-classics and everyone should have at least one. I bought Diva, and I couldn’t be happier!

I want a Lush in my town. I also don’t because I would be poor. I picked up a face mask (using it for the first time later today) and of course, a bath bomb. I bought the honey bee bomb.

There was a Dotti, which I also have in my town but I still bought two things: this stripy shirt and this dress. Dotti make the best dresses in my opinion, they’re always so well made.

At Mecca, as I said I only bought one thing even though I wanted the Too Faced Chocolate palette, I have no clue why I decided against it when I got there. I did, however buy Laguna!

That’s all I bought! Hope you liked this little haul.

March Favourites

Hello again! Well it’s that time of the month again (nope not that one!). It’s favourites time!

Last month I was on a spending ban, and this month I haven’t bought a lot either, as I’m currently in Melbourne and have been saving so that I can spend big there, or here as it’s where I will be when this goes up!

Reserved Pillow

My first favourite is this pillow! I bought it because it reminds me of the reserved sign on Friends. I bought this from Kmart for $10 and I feel as though it just completes my room.

Chelsea Riding Boots

These boots made my life 50% better not kidding. They were $60 from Dotti and are so amazing. I decided I wanted a pair of these and went out the next day and bought these. They go with everything and I want to wear them all the time.

Face of Australia Translucent Powder

I have been using the Rimmel Stay Matte for 2 years or so and this one might actually beat it. It feels so soft on the skin and lasts all day! I bought this reduced so I’m not sure if it’s being eliminated but hopefully not!

Face of Australia Primer

This primer is so soothing and is a nice creamy consistency. Nowadays I usually use 2 primers and this one does a fantastic job of keeping my makeup on all day.

Ebay Brushes

I know some people hate buying brushes from ebay but these ones were like $2 and I am in love. They’re not the best quality, but the tiny brushes are perfect for the outer corner and the flat brush is perfect for neatening around my brows.

Maybelline Gel Eyeliner

This formula is long lasting and incredible! I apply it with the dry master precise and it is perfect! It’s made eyeliner so much easier!

Face of Australia “Gold Rush”

Buy this just for the matte brown. This is the perfect crease shade and goes with literaly everything. I haven’t tried the other shades yet but I would assume that they’re the same formula.

Topshop Blush “Good Girl”

This is a perfect “cheeky” colour. I definitely need more of these blushes. When I’m in Melbourne, I’ll have a look out for a topshop.

Bourjois Happy Light Concealer

I use this concealer on my red pimples, pre-foundation. It’s a bit too dark but blends in well and the darkness disappears. The lighter shade was far too light so I thought I’d best go darker. I’m glad I did.

Well, those are my favourites. I hope you’re all having a nice day and that you’re ready for The Melbourne Files…
