Everyday School Makeup Rountine

Hello everybody! As I still go to school (only a couple of weeks left), and my school does not condone obvious makeup, I thought I would show you my everyday school makeup routine.

This is a natural makeup look, which may seem boring but I quite like it as no one notices I’m wearing makeup (which excuses me from judgey girls), and I can still feel comfortable.

Base:

The base is always extremely important to me, I love concealers and I think when a base is flawless (but not actually flawless as that is impossible), everything else falls into place.

I begin with a primer, which helps my makeup last the entire day. I have recently really been enjoying my Rimmel Fix & Perfect primer. I love how this sits on my face.

Next I do my foundation. Depending on what type of skin day I’m having, recently I have been using either use the Revlon Colourstay Foundation or The Body Shop’s Tea Tree BB Cream. I adore both of these.

Now my favourite, concealer! I have quite a big collection (maybe a future post?) but my favourite at the moment, especially for undereye circles is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind, the only problem with this is that it has a sponge applicator at the end. I usually just squeeze out the product as I don’t like the sponge.

For blush, I like a natural pinkish shade, this Australis blush in Rosy Cheeks, it’s such a gorgeous shade. For bronzing I use The Body Shop’s Honey Bronzer in 01. This has a pink undertone in it which compliments the blush well. I don't contour for school as I don't feel it's appropriate.

I always powder, and depending if I feel as though I need to be mattified, I will use Rimmel Stay Matte, otherwise if I decide I need extra coverage I will use Covergirl Advanced Radiance in 110.

Eyes:

I would love it if I could wear eyeliner, unfortunately my school doesn’t allow it so I just have to stick with mascara. I use the Rimmel Wonderfull, which feels great on my lashes.

Lips:

A basic chapstick is what I need everyday to keep my lips nice and moisturized throughout the day.

Well, that’s my basic everyday school makeup look. School is nearly finished, which I am very excited about but also kind of nervous.

I hope you have a nice day/night! x

Study Tips and Tricks | Holidays #6

I am in my last year of high school which means that I’ve spent my entire life studying. Over the years, and despite the fact that I procrastinate a lot, I have learnt a few “tricks of the trade” to successful studying.

1.        Set yourself a legitimate time frame.
This is the best advice. Don’t tell yourself to do an assignment all in the afternoon you receive it. Definitely don’t leave it until the last minute. Set yourself a achievable time frame for you to work in.

2.       Have snacks ready.

Snacking while studying is the best. Although quickly grabbing a bag of chips (crisps?) seems like the easy option-try and avoid it. Instead, chop up some fruit: I don’t know why but I find it much more fun to chop my fruit before eating it. You could also grab some nuts. They are great for just nibbling on and taste delicious!

3.       Sleep is actually the best.

It wasn’t until recently that I realised how great sleep is. Although, I am addicted to social media so I don’t get enough of it. Despite this, before any exam the next I make sure that I go to bed a reasonable time. For me, this usually means about 10-10:30. Sleep restores your mind and body so getting enough is essential when something important is on the next day.

4.      Take BREAKS!
The absolute worst thing for you to do is cram in 5 hours straight of study. You will remember 15 minutes of it. Legitimately. Usually an hour study and a 15 minute break is fair enough. You’ll know what’s fair for yourself.

Well there you go: a couple of tips that I've learnt through all my years of studying. I hope they help you out sometime in the near future.

Happiness is Healthy.

This week has dragged on for too long. Despite it only being Thursday night, I had some things to say. This was basically my week: (moral of the story at the end)

Monday: There were far too many assignments due. You know when all your teachers gang up on you and decide that this’ll be the day and literally EVERYTHING is due? Yeah? That was Monday.
Tuesday: the worst day of my year. I’m very insecure, and I had confrontation. Despite this, a very popular boy in my class called my friends and I “nerds” and even though it isn’t exactly an insult (at least not a creative one), I was very offended. See this boy in the past has made me feel uncomfortable and as if I don’t belong, which isn’t a nice feeling at all.
Wednesday: a fight between my friends. Apparently I was in the middle but I’m still not sure what I did.

And of course, Thursday: finally. A good day. My friends and I ate cake and made a huge mess, I went to a job interview and got it! (woo!)

And now we’re here. Someone pointed out to me that all my problems could be (slightly?) resolved if I just didn’t care, if I ignored people who didn’t matter and focused on my happiness. And that is exactly what I plan to do. I know it’ll be hard because it’s true, I do care far too much. But I’m willing to try, and that makes me happy.

I’ll leave you with this, the wise words of Dan Howell, and something I think about often:

(P.S. within reason and as long as it doesn’t endanger yourself and/or anyone else)

Life Updates-March 2014

Hello all!

A couple of life updates...
  •  I’m back at school. It physically and mentally drains me every day and although it isn’t hard work I’ve been getting very stressed lately.
  • I’ve been having quite a few panic attacks this year which I absolutely hate as I’ve never had them in the past.
  • Boy vice-captain asked me to formal. He’s very shy and I am the first girl he has ever asked out (at least I’m fairly sure) so I said yes, I don’t like him but he’s very nice so that’s sorted.
  • This super cute boy keeps poking me on Facebook and I really want him to message me.
  • Puberty Blues comes back on tonight and I’m very excited.
  • I started watch My Mad Fat Diary and it is so great I love it.
  • I have been trying really hard to come out of my shell this year. I almost always greet everyone in my grade when I walk past them.
  • I have been buying far too many clothes online (but I love it)

my new house is so pretty.

That’s all from me. Just felt like doing a little update post. I have a couple of ideas up my sleeve for future posts.
