Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse-REVIEW

Today I am going to be reviewing the Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse. I picked this up on a sale when it was only $15 AUD. I wanted to try something new and as a random pick-this didn’t disappoint.

The Packaging
I love how it is a pump bottle, most liquid foundations are but some still just have a poorer. With the pump, it is easier to maintain how much you pour out. It is in a glass bottle and has quite a lot of liquid, especially because it is such nice coverage. It has a twistable lid which is great in keeping your foundation

Their Review
On the front, they state that it is “Airbrush Finish”. I do believe it does maintain this-especially if applied well.

My Review

This is my new favourite foundation. Its coverage is great, it lasts almost all day, and it is the right amount of dewy and not at all thick. It is easily bendable and such a good price! I would definitely recommend it to everyone and even though I am aware that everyone has different skin so there isn’t an exact way to know if it’ll be good for you, but for the price-why not try it out?

iHerb Order

I recently stumbled along iHerb. It’s basically a website where you can buy American items-anywhere in the world, for about the same as in American. As I’m from Australia, where beauty items are insanely inflated, I knew this would be a huge help.

I have been looking at the Real Techniques brushes for a long time and was planning to buy some soon. They’re about $50 AUD which is quite expensive. Then I found iHerb and everything was solved. They don’t have an insanely huge range of beauty products (more along the lines of supplements etc).

I purchased 2 different sets of brushes, including; the core collection, and the travel essentials.

The Core Collection includes:
Detailer Brush
Pointed Foundation Brush
Buffing Brush
Contour Brush

The Travel Essentials includes:
Essential Foundation Brush
Multi Task Brush
Doomed Shadow Brush

I also picked up the Nude Eyes Eye shadow Palette from Physicians Formula. I decided to pick this up as a little more so that I could reach my $40 and get $10 off!
If you would like $10 off your first order at iHerb or $5 off on anything less than $40 use this code: PWM749

iHerb I would definitely recommend. Their products came to me in no time and were boxed so nicely. I will definitely be shopping there again.

Products Not Worth It | Holidays #10

Today will be my last “Holidays” post. I will be showing some products that I don’t believe are worth it. “It” being; your money, your time, your efforts, or anything else for that matter.

I’m not saying I’m correct, this is just my opinion.

Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer

I found this to be such a pain. It dries almost immediately on your face-before you have time to even spread and apply it. It is extremely thin and the coverage is hardly there.

Covergirl Lashblast Fusion Mascara

Another awful product. This mascara was clumpy and hardly lasted an hour let alone a day.

The Body Shop “Born Lippy”

I don’t like lipglosses. Despite this, I especially didn’t like this one. It was extremely sticky and didn’t easily glide on like I expected it too.

Covergirl “Invisible” Concealer

This wasn’t absolutely awful but it definitely isn’t worth a purchase.

So there you go. Some of my suggestions, of what not to buy. These are just my opinions and I don’t blame you if your suggestions are different as no one has the same type of skin.

Eyebrow Tricks | Holidays #9

I’m not an expert with eyebrows. I don’t think that they require being filled in especially when they’re filled in with an incorrect colour. I do believe that eyebrows should be shaped. Over the years I have picked up a few tips to eyebrow shaping.

1.        Do not start until you actually need to.
When I was 10, I got my eyebrows waxed. Worst mistake. I was 10 so obviously im eyebrows were light as and very unnoticeable.

2.       Ice cube trick.
Before plucking, run an ice cube over your eyebrows so you can mould it into the shape you like and then pluck it.

3.       Get an eyebrow brush
These baby’s will help you everyday-so invest in one!

It seems as though I was unorganized for this post..

4.      Moisturizer is your friend
So use it. After you have finished plucking, it’ll help soothe tings. Especially if you’re new to it!

5.       Pull on your skin
To not risk missing any loose hairs, pull on your skin tight so that you have more accuracy.

So there you go! Just a couple of tricks I’ve learnt over the years- I hope they’ve helped!

Study Tips and Tricks | Holidays #6

I am in my last year of high school which means that I’ve spent my entire life studying. Over the years, and despite the fact that I procrastinate a lot, I have learnt a few “tricks of the trade” to successful studying.

1.        Set yourself a legitimate time frame.
This is the best advice. Don’t tell yourself to do an assignment all in the afternoon you receive it. Definitely don’t leave it until the last minute. Set yourself a achievable time frame for you to work in.

2.       Have snacks ready.

Snacking while studying is the best. Although quickly grabbing a bag of chips (crisps?) seems like the easy option-try and avoid it. Instead, chop up some fruit: I don’t know why but I find it much more fun to chop my fruit before eating it. You could also grab some nuts. They are great for just nibbling on and taste delicious!

3.       Sleep is actually the best.

It wasn’t until recently that I realised how great sleep is. Although, I am addicted to social media so I don’t get enough of it. Despite this, before any exam the next I make sure that I go to bed a reasonable time. For me, this usually means about 10-10:30. Sleep restores your mind and body so getting enough is essential when something important is on the next day.

4.      Take BREAKS!
The absolute worst thing for you to do is cram in 5 hours straight of study. You will remember 15 minutes of it. Legitimately. Usually an hour study and a 15 minute break is fair enough. You’ll know what’s fair for yourself.

Well there you go: a couple of tips that I've learnt through all my years of studying. I hope they help you out sometime in the near future.

OOTW | Holidays #5

Apparently I forgot to post yesterday. My mistake. I did want to show you my ootw (outfits of the week). I didn’t capture all of them as one day I just didn’t feel like it, but I caught most.

Note: There will be no post tomorrow, but I’ll be back to normal on Monday.

Casual Mondays
I-Can't-Pose Tuesdays
The-Lighting-was-Terrible Wednesdays
Slightly made an Effort Thursdays

In all honesty, I didn't make much effort at all this week as I very rarely left my house.

Toodaloo!

Acceptance and Beauty | Holidays #4

Let’s turn these holiday posts around and talk about acceptance and beauty. Of yourself. “Once you’ve accepted your flaws, no one can use them against you.” My friend told me this quote the other day, I just looked it up and it’s by George R.R. Martin (aka: the writer of Game of Thrones).

How accurate is this quote though? Once you accept that your nose is a funny shape, that you’re allergic to milk, or that you wear braces-everything becomes simpler.

Take this: I don’t believe everyone is beautiful. I do believe that “beautiful” is judged on your personality, how you treat other people and how you treat yourself. In saying that, no one can be completely and utterly “beautiful”. No one, no matter what they say, acts perfectly towards anyone. What I’m trying to say is: in reality, no one is beautiful-but, everyone has beauty within themselves. I’m not sure if I’m getting my point across very well.

MY POINT: Bust out your inner beauty and show people more of that side of you than you do of any other personality trait. Be confident within yourself, and try your hardest to make it a personality trait.

“Do you know y/n?”
“Yes ohh she’s so lovely! What a beauty!” (Say this in an Aussie accent I dare you).

Anyway, toodaloo!

Current Favourites: Music | Holiday #3

There has been a lot of different music that I love at the moment. I do this thing where I reminisce my childhood through music and it’s not okay because it makes me miss the similar times.

Despite this, I honestly love loads of music and if you make a music suggestion to me I will probably love it/them.

Anyway, here’s some music that I’ve been loving recently.

·         5 Seconds of Summer

In 2012, my friend told me to go and buy 5sos’ first ep. At this point, I hadn’t even heard their music before but for some reason I went out and bought it. I never listened to it. I’m not too sure why. Anyway, a couple of months ago I found it and decided to listen to it and I LOVED it. Last week, I went out a bought their new ep and it is just a good!

·         Fancy- Iggy Azalea

Everyone loves this song, or at least they love the video. As a huge clueless fan, I fell in love with everything about this song and clip.

·         Atomic Kitten (Whole Again, It’s OK, Eternal Flame)
Flashback to the early 00’s when it was all about teen popstars, Britney and Justin’s disaster co-ordinated jean outfit, and rushing home from school to watch Lizzie McGuire (at least in my case). Atomic Kitten has somehow made it back into my current playlist and I have mixed emotions about it.

·         Fall Out Boy
Fall Out Boy are one of my favourite bands ever and their songs are my go-to when I’m bussing home from school.  At the moment I’m loving; Young Volcanoes, The Phoenix and Demigods.

These are just a few of my current favourites, as it’s always changing I will probably do an updated version of this in a few months.

A Challenge is Always a Good Idea | Holiday #1

I am currently on school holidays, my last ever school holidays between first and second term-damn! I decided that I would set myself a small (ish?) challenge of making a blogpost every day for the entire holidays.

kind of just needed a picture. nothing to do with post and wasn't taken today-sorry.
Whenever I have a blogpost idea-I immediately get out my phone and write it in a note I have saved. There are a lot of ideas on the list, but I haven’t written any of them yet simply because of school and how much time it consumes. I have to be in the right state of mind to blog you know!
I’m not too sure yet if I will be posting on weekends-but I guess we’ll see.

Anyway, I don’t hope you enjoy the next two weeks and that you are happy, healthy and comfortable.
