Boxing Day Haul

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and apologies for my lack of Christmas themed posts, I’ve been working like crazy recently (which I have enjoyed every minute of it!)

Anyway, in my lunch break yesterday, I went Boxing Day shopping. It was quite a rush but I still got a few good items!

The first shop I went to was Chemist Warehouse, where they were having 50% off all items. Majority of my purchases were repurchases on items I’ve been waiting for sales on. I picked up:

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Barely Branded
Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer
Rimmel Wonderfull Mascara
Rimmel Blush in 90 Coral
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder

Next I went to Factorie, which I don’t exactly shop too often but my sister told me their sales were pretty insane so I went there anyway. I bought 2 skirts (which were both $1 each) and a plain black halter.

Afterwards I quickly visited Dotti and bought a skort and a dress, which were both $10 each. I love the feel of Dotti clothes and will probably make a post on them, early next year.

I hope you all have a fantastic new years and that you stay safe.

See you next year! x

Savvy Perfect Pout Mini Lipsticks | REVIEW

Hello, recently Priceline had their 40% off all cosmetics sale (which they only have, around twice a year). Everyone who remotely enjoys makeup went crazy (as we should).

I went to two different Priceline’s on the first day and ended up buying these Savvy Perfect Pout Mini Lipsticks. They come in a pack of 10, and retail for $10. The colours range from nudes, to bright reds. As soon as I saw these I thought they’d be perfect for someone who wants a range of lip colours, and doesn’t have a lot of money.

Each lipstick comes in a black tube which has 3.2g of product in them. They’re all matte shades. They’re very cute, but how good are they actually?

The colours include:

Riot: A nude/pinky colour.
Nudie Run: A nude/brown colour, with a tiny bit of pink undertone.
Berry Appealing: A bright redish/pink.
Sacred Scarlet: A dark brown shade, with a red undertone.
Platform: A rustic red shade with a tinge of brown.
Icon: A bright purple, in fact I’d describe it as an Ursula Purple.
Red Velvet: A bright red, extremely matte.
Bonfire: A bright orange with a red undertone.
Flirty Flamingo: A dulled hot pink shade.
Petulant Plum: A deep/medium purple. Has a pink undertone.

From L-R As Above.
These lipsticks are amazing for the price, and really give a good range of colours. However, as soon as I attempted to open/apply they broke off. I’m not sure if this happened to everyone, but it really disappointed me. As the product goes, they’re very creamy and would go perfect underneath lip gloss! It just really let me down how easily they could break, but I mean, for $10 I would definitely recommend them!

Have a nice day! Toodaloo x

Summer Essentials

Hello all! I live in Central Queensland, which means that it’s currently summer, and extremely hot. There are a lot of ways to help your skin in the summer, to protect it from sun cancer, and to keep your makeup in check.

Here are my summer essentials.

1.       Foundation with high spf.
Although foundation with spf isn’t great when you’re going to an event with professional lighting, for every day, spf is a must! Another alternative for a lightweight coverage are BB creams.

2.       Mattifying Products.
Using a matte primer can both help to leave your face matte, and to make your makeup stay in place longer. Powder products in summer sometimes cause your skin to look cakey, but if you only use a limited amount, it can go a long way.

3.      Lip balms.
Lip balms are great, but only if they’re a liquid consistency. This paw paw lip balm is great in keeping your lips moist, and it smells fantastic!

4.      Sunscreen.
Sunscreen is a must have in summer, I apply it before foundation and it is essential for every day in summer.

5.      A good moisturizer.
This Neutrogena moisturizer keeps my face feeling moist, without feeling like a huge weight.

6.      Water.
This doesn’t need explanation.

7.      Panadol.
I need Panadol in summer as I get headaches insanely badly.

Well, these are my summer essentials, what are yours?

High School is Over | STORY

Hey guys. So recently (as in, two weeks ago) I finished high school forever. This means, that I never have to take another math test, unless I choose to-for a job or otherwise. It is hard to put into words what I was feeling during the last two weeks of school. I had my last ever exam block, and then probably the most exciting week of my life.

My best friend and I.
Monday

Monday was the most average day of the week. It begun with our final goodbye to the rest of the school. I wasn’t too sad about this, as any friends I have that aren’t in my grade, I knew I would say goodbye later in the week as well. Monday night my school had its annual awards night. It such a good night, whether you receive an award or watch everyone receive their awards. I was lucky enough to win two awards. The awards included: Year 12 Citizenship Award (which is a joint award with others), and the Student Council Recognition Award (which is a single award). I was super happy with both of these and felt very proud to have won them.

Tuesday

My year co-ordinator (the teacher in charge of the cohort) organised for us to have a “fun day” where we basically hung out. He had things like sumo suits, bouncy castles, water fights, eating competitions, and nerf gun wars. He’s a super cool guy and I am going to miss his guidance and dad jokes.

Wednesday

My school has this thing where every year, on the last Wednesday, every wears their old school uniform. I woke up and didn’t particularly feel like wearing mine, so I didn’t. However, everyone looked cool as and we all had a super fun day.

Thursday

shitty iphone quality but idgaf
The morning was graduation ceremony, which meant all Year 12’s sat through about 2 hours of speeches, and then got a piece of paper. (It was actually very exciting not going to lie). There were a few tears from people, yet none from me. After that, I drove over to the venue for that night to help set up. At around 1:30 I left for my hair appointment, and then makeup, before driving home to quickly put my dress on. I hadn't been overly excited for formal until it was around 1 hour before, I’m not too sure why. My car arrived and after picking up my date, we arrived at the venue. The formal setup team hadn’t done a lot to help setup before we all had to leave for appointments. It was so exciting to see how perfect the room looked (all thanks to my year coordinator). Everyone looked absolutely stunning, I still can’t believe how amazing everyone did look. I don’t know why, but as I was so dressed up, I automatically felt much more confident. I was telling everyone-even people I don’t like-how amazing they looked. The night was incredible, and the after party was also pretty fun.

Me and my date.
Friday

Everyone had to go to school for 2 hours just to receive our yearbooks. Everyone was “tired” from the after party the night before (I wasn’t as I don’t drink alcohol). I didn’t get too many people to sign my yearbook as I felt annoying asking people to. It was quite hard to say goodbye to all my friends (who I knew I was going to see again anyway), my teachers, fellow classmates, and the school. A lot of people cried (yet I still did not), and people gave me hugs. It was quite emotional and sad but obviously it was time, and we all knew that this day had been coming.

Overall, this schooling year was a HUGE learning experience for me. I learnt about myself, my friends, and so much more. I’m going to miss being at school every day but am so excited that I’ll be able to wear lipstick everyday now.

Hope you all had a great day! xx

October/November Favourites

Hello! I know it’s been awhile since I’ve put up a post, to be fair I was extremely busy with the whole “graduating from high school” thing. I’ll do a post on that soon, but for now, I’ll just show you things I’ve been loving for October/November. (I miss October favourites).

I have tried to avoid buying too much makeup recently, as I have quite a lot to use up, and I need to save money before uni starts. Despite this, I have been reaching for the same items these past 2 months.

Rimmel Match Perfection

This foundation is probably in my group of holy-grails (which is basically empty, and extremely hard to get into). I love the coverage which is medium-full, and I love how it doesn’t cake over any blemishes I have.

Covergirl Flamed Out Mascara

It feels so weird to be raving about two mascaras twice in a row, but since I have bought this one, I have pretty much used it everyday. I love everything about this mascara, especially the brush.

Revlon Colour Balm-Elusive

I’m one of those people that when I hear someone raving about something, I automatically think, “I MUST HAVE IT” hijessicaanne on Instagram always used to rave about this. I bought it and fell in love. It is the perfect everyday colour!

Rimmel Stay Matte Primer

I love this primer for keeping my skin non-oily throughout the day.

Australis Contouring & Highlighting Palette

This palette has been sold out everywhere since it was released. It is supposedly a dupe to the ABH Contour palette but as I don’t have that, I cannot compare. I love the yellow highlighter for underneath my eyes, to brighten them up. I love how they have a choice of matte and shimmer shades to choose from.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Moisturizer

This moisturizer is insane! It is extremely moisturizing but does feel as though you have layers of moisturizer on. I have always struggled with using moisturizer everyday but since getting this I don’t think I have missed a day yet!

Models Prefer Blush-First Kiss

This is a beautiful shade and has so much pigment! Seriously you only need a tiny bit. It has so much product for $10.99 at Priceline. I don’t think I have seen anyone rave about these but you should definitely try them!

Maybelline Brow Drama

It wasn’t until recently that I realised how important brows are! They really do everything to frame your face. This is a fantastic product in ensuring your brows stay in place all day.

Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer

I am a concealer addict. I am always on the search for the best one, and this was is so good. It works as both a concealer and highlighter. The only downfall is the applicator, I don’t know why but I’m not too fond of brush style applicators on concealers.

Real Techniques Pointed Foundation Brush

I use this brush for both highlighting and dabbing on concealer. I rarely use any RT brushes for what they’re actually “supposed” to be used for. Eh.

1989-Taylor Swift

This album is EVERYTHING. I’m not a “huge Taylor Swift fan” so I’m not bias but every single song on this album, is a JAM. The music video for Blank Space is perfect. If you have yet to listen to ths album I would suggest you do.

Well, that’s all! Hopefully I’ll have more posts soon as now I have much more time on my hands!

Cheerio!

My Current Makeup Brushes

Hello everyone! It feels like so long since I have sat down and written a blogpost. I don’t know about you, but I love makeup brushes. Although I don’t own an insane amount, I do own quite a few. My favourite brand of makeup brushes is Real Techniques, which I buy off of iHerb. As I live in Australia, it’s a much cheaper alternative. For an even cheaper option, you could buy Jessup Brushes off ebay. It’s about $12 for a set, and they’re amazing quality.

My makeup brushes change so often, so I thought I’d tell you about my current ones.

Face Brushes

I use two different ones, depending on what I feel like. This Jessup flat top brush is amazing. It doesn’t shed often and is great for applying foundation. I also use this Real Techniques Buffing Brush, which is just as good.

Contour Brushes

For contouring, I either use Models Prefer Angled Brush, or Real Techniques Contour Brush. These are both very good, but I prefer the angled brush as it has more bristles and is a bit more stable.

Powder Brush

I love this Revlon Kabuki Brush, although the only problem is that it is black which means I had to wash it a couple of times before to let the ink out. It also sheds quite a bit.

Blush Brush

Real Techniques Multi Task Brush is so good for blush, you buy it in the Travel Essentials pack and can be used for a lot of different things.

Concealer & Highlighter

I use these two foundation brushes to dab on my concealer or to highlight my brow bone, nose and cheeks. These are both by Real Techniques, and I don’t think I have ever used them for foundation.

Eye Brushes

I have to be honest, I don’t do eye shadow often. I have quite a lot of them, surprisingly. These are the brushes I use when I do decide to do my eyes. They range from Jessup, to Real Techniques.

Those are my current brushes, I might do an update of these, if my brushes change dramatically in the future.

Have a good week! x

Everyday School Makeup Rountine

Hello everybody! As I still go to school (only a couple of weeks left), and my school does not condone obvious makeup, I thought I would show you my everyday school makeup routine.

This is a natural makeup look, which may seem boring but I quite like it as no one notices I’m wearing makeup (which excuses me from judgey girls), and I can still feel comfortable.

Base:

The base is always extremely important to me, I love concealers and I think when a base is flawless (but not actually flawless as that is impossible), everything else falls into place.

I begin with a primer, which helps my makeup last the entire day. I have recently really been enjoying my Rimmel Fix & Perfect primer. I love how this sits on my face.

Next I do my foundation. Depending on what type of skin day I’m having, recently I have been using either use the Revlon Colourstay Foundation or The Body Shop’s Tea Tree BB Cream. I adore both of these.

Now my favourite, concealer! I have quite a big collection (maybe a future post?) but my favourite at the moment, especially for undereye circles is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind, the only problem with this is that it has a sponge applicator at the end. I usually just squeeze out the product as I don’t like the sponge.

For blush, I like a natural pinkish shade, this Australis blush in Rosy Cheeks, it’s such a gorgeous shade. For bronzing I use The Body Shop’s Honey Bronzer in 01. This has a pink undertone in it which compliments the blush well. I don't contour for school as I don't feel it's appropriate.

I always powder, and depending if I feel as though I need to be mattified, I will use Rimmel Stay Matte, otherwise if I decide I need extra coverage I will use Covergirl Advanced Radiance in 110.

Eyes:

I would love it if I could wear eyeliner, unfortunately my school doesn’t allow it so I just have to stick with mascara. I use the Rimmel Wonderfull, which feels great on my lashes.

Lips:

A basic chapstick is what I need everyday to keep my lips nice and moisturized throughout the day.

Well, that’s my basic everyday school makeup look. School is nearly finished, which I am very excited about but also kind of nervous.

I hope you have a nice day/night! x

Brisbane/Sunshine Coast Haul

Hello y’all!

Last week I went away down south. I visited: Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Gold Coast! Because these are quite big cities, I went shopping! I actually didn’t buy much, surprisingly, but I did buy a little. I wanted to buy something from MAC but my friend stopped me but I kind of wished I had, and also glad I didn’t. (PS: if you had to own only one MAC lipstick which colour would you pick?)

Well, here’s what I bought:

My first purchase was from Rubi Shoes, which I want them to open in my town! Their shoes were adorable! I also am in love with their bags, as I love things like this! I bought two pairs, these adorable platforms which I have been wanting for awhile, and these bargain boots. The platforms were $25 (2 for $50, the other pair I bought for my sister), and the boots were $15!! I was so excited to see them especially as they were the last ones in my size!

Next I went into Factorie, where I bought 2 flower crowns. I’ve never really thought the flower crown phase was anything great but I thought these looked so adorable that I could resist!

That’s all I bought the first day, however the net day we went into Brisbane and visited Queen Street mall. Well, I went into chicabooti, and although their clothes were adorable I think they’re more suited for smaller people. I ended up buying only one thing, this top which has a cut out mesh line down the bottom.

Next stop was Valleygirl, although I have this store in my town, our store is nowhere near as huge as this store was! I ended up buying 3 things, this lacy black shirt, this also black dress, and this coral peplum.

My friend was extremely excited to find Lush, we were looking on this map (which we actually got very confused by, but it was very confusing), we ended up walking in one direction and I was like “where the hell is it?” and suddenly we were outside and my friend pointed out that we were standing right next to it. I was so excited, and our excitement grew as we stumbled around the store smelling literally everything. However, I only bought two things, the very much raved about, bubblegum lip scrub, and the twilight bath bomb (which was incredible).

Last, but definitely not least I went to Topshop! The store was huge but I only bought two things, a lipstick in Charmed, and this gorgeous pink blush in Good Girl. I’m kind of having withdrawals and want to go back there to buy all their makeup.

Well, there you go. My Brisbane Haul is over! I’m sure there will be more hauls soon, especially as I’m going to Melbourne in March next year!

Until next time, ciao!
