Burgandy Smokey Eyes + Natural Face | 12 Days of Xmas

Hey guys!

I never do makeup tutorials on here as it is super hard to show how to do something through photos. So a warning that this tutorial will be justified that you already know how to blend and all.

Anyway, I have really been loving burgundy colours on the lids so I thought I’d show you a tutorial for this kind of burgundy smokey look-hope you like! PS: Sorry about the dates!

First, I moisturize. Obviously this is the most important thing to do. I use Neutrogena Water Boost and it is incredible! My fave!

Next I prime. I see such a huge difference when I prime, it’s so much easier to blend foundation. I use the Face of Australia 3 in 1 Face Base. This product is alright, good for a basic smooth look. I also used Australis Cya Later Pores, for my T Zone.

I mix my foundations as I can never find the perfect shade so I mix all my foundations with this super light Rimmel Match Perfection. I predominately used the Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous as it has a natural yet flawless finish that doesn’t feel heavy on the skin.

I blend this in with my Beauty Blender, this is keeping with the natural feel of the look, as a beauty blender prevents the foundation from layering on the skin.

I next concealer, I’m using two as I need to be able to cover all of my flaws. I used the Collection Lasting Perfection under my eyes and Maybelline Fit Me Concealer on spots.

I set my concealer with the translucent powder side my Sleek Concealer kit. I had never done this before and I loved it!

Gotta make me matte, I powder this holy grail everywhere, I cannot live without this product it us so good omg. BTW: It’s Rimmel Stay Matte in case you didn’t know.

I then powder a little, it’s summer here in Australia so I try hard not too over powder, I just do a little. I used Australis Fresh and Flawless.

Next I filled in my brows. As I was trying to achieve that natural/sorta look and I want the focus to be on the eyes, I used a brow pencil by Rimmel. One eyebrow looks so bad and the other needed to be longer, I should’ve use a pomade buy ya know, we’re all still learning. I also used the L’Oreal Brow Plumper to make these stay in place.

I try so hard to contour, but just lightly to make a little difference but to look as though I haven’t. I love the Sleek Contour Kit-so good!

Now: onto the eyes!

I got this palette from eBay and used a brown shade in my crease to begin with.

I then took the shade Cherry Cordial from the Too Faced Original Chocolate Bar Palette and put this all over the lid and blended the edges.

Next I used the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk to deepen the shade. I just blended this out with my finger.

I also use an ELF Blush in Mellow Mauve to blend the edges of my eyeshadow, I used this as a transition colour as it is quite purple-y.

I used the other Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette and took the shade Licorice. I lightly placed this in the outer corner and blended it outwards.

I then went and highlighted my browbone and cheeks with the ELF Blush in Gotta Glow.

I’ve had this Australis liner in Morning Haze for so long yet I swear I’ve never used it. I used this on my bottom lash line and blended it out.

Finally, I did a cat eye look using the Maybelline Hypersharp Liner which is super easy to use! I can’t explain it!

I have no clue why I’ve done it in this order but I then applied blush which was the NYX blush in Pinched.

I slapped on a Gerard Cosmetics lipstick in 1995 and applied mascara (which I didn’t put on in the pictures-again!) and I was ready to rumble!

Hope you liked the look!! See you all tomorrow xx

Beauty Blender vs ChiChi Cosmetics Blending Sponge | 12 Days of Xmas

Hey guys! I’m sure you are all familiar with the iconic beauty blender. It’s a soft sponge that you dampen to blend makeup flawlessly.

I have a few variations of this sponge so I thought I’d do a little comparison of this one to a similar one, which is the ChiChi Cosmetics Blending Sponge.

Can you tell which half I used the Beauty Blender on?
Overall, they are both fantastic sponges and the ChiChi Cosmetics sponge is a great dupe for a minuscule of the cost. You can buy these online, or at Myer and Target. If you want to splurge on the Beauty Blender, you can get it here.

Have a great day! Xx

Top 5 Concealers | 12 Days of Xmas

I am slightly concealer obsessed. “Slightly” is quite an understatement. It’s the one product I will continue buying more, despite having thousands. Today I thought I’d share my top 5 concealers.

5. Sleek Corrector & Concealer Palette

This has three colours in it, a cream pink, cream yellow and powder (which is translucent with slight yellow colours). I love using the pink concealer when I have had five hours sleep and look so drained. It’s perfect for putting in the corner of your eye bags. It blends so well, especially with a beauty blender.

4. LA Girl Pro Concealer

Everyone raves about this, and for around $3 I can see why! This blends so well and so smoothly and has fantastic coverage. It’s a perfect everyday concealer for blemishes and under eye concealing.

3. Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

This concealer is fabulous for under eyes. However, I wouldn’t use it as a foundation (when you wanna have those no foundation days) as it has underlying shimmers throughout. Great for brightening though!

2. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

This is so great for everything, I just have on problem; there isn’t a shade light enough. Don’t get me wrong, I can still use the lightest shade, I just have to blend it super well.

1. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

I could go on about this concealer for years. Everything is right with it, it blends seamlessly, and is such a full coverage but doesn’t feel cakey. I just have one slight problem; I don’t know somewhere I can buy it as I bought this in New Zealand. I would buy flights just to get it again though. Not even kidding.

There you are! My top 5 concealers, which are coincidently all drugstore!

YouTube Recommendations | 12 Days of Xmas

I love finding new people to watch online. This year I feel as though I have discovered so many new people and I wanted to share some of them with you.

My #1, someone that everyone should watch is Matt from AlrightHey. He is so hilarious and despite YouTube not even being his fulltime income, he spends so much time and effort into bringing out original and creative content. I am super proud of him, quite like a mumma as the first video I watched of his was his top ten Tuesday: driving video. This was one of his first ever videos and I just think it had been incredible watching him and his content develop.

xxx

Kathleen Lights is a beauty youtuber who, in my opinion, is one of the very best. Every time I went to buy something, I would check first to see if she has done a review on it.

Just Between Us is a youtube series by Gaby and Allison. They have a very unique dynamic and it makes their videos hilarious to watch. They originally began their channel by answering dating questions once a week, however; now they also do skits once a week as well. They are very talented writers (script-wise) who have a knack for displaying their personalities in the best & worst way: that makes you love them!

Ben J Pierce, also known as KidPOV. I feel as though most youtubers have become slightly lazy, they know people will watch them for their personality so they don’t really need to bring out a creative video. Ben always thinks of the most original ideas and displays his personality in a really relatable way.

LucyAndLydia, these girls are adorable and I love their get the look videos, which are usually of music videos as they are very musically influenced. My favourite video of theirs was the Little Mix Love Me Like You: Get The Look.

RachelLeea is an Aussie youtuber who edits her videos in a way that you can tell she’s spent time and effort on them. She’s adorable and her vegan ‘What I Ate Today’ videos will give you so much food envy. I’m not a vegan but I love veggies and finding creative ways to eat them.

SallyJo is from NZ and knows her shit about makeup. She’s another person I will look up if I need a review or watch video. She isn’t a makeup snob and loves finding and using drugstore makeup. Her brows are always on fleek and such is just an overall joy to watch.

Shannon or Shaaanxo, this girl blends like a pro. For someone self-taught, you would never be able to tell that she doesn’t have a degree in makeup. Her makeup collection is makeup and storage goals (in fact sometimes I find myself watching this video to relieve my shopping addiction). She has a video on everything, every lip swatch, every eye makeup look, you’ll find it!

StealTheSpotlight, Katie is insanely fashionable. It’s so great that she’s Australian as it’s hard to find someone who’s predominately fashion related and Australian (not being Aussie exclusive, it’s just hard to envy someone’s dress from the UK that can only be bought from the UK). I wish I could be as confident as her when it comes to wearing certain clothes.

Well there are some of my faves this year-subscribe! Xx

Taylor Swift Inspired | Style Steal

Hello!

If anyone reading this knows me, you know how much I love Taylor Swift. She is currently in Australia for the last leg of her 1989 tour and I’ve taken half an hour out of crying over the fact that I’m not attending her concert, to show some reinventions of my favourite outfits of hers.

Taylor has a very stylish, girly style and wears loads of coats. As it is Australian summer, and where I live it is easily up to 40oC every day, I didn’t want to wear coats (besides, I don’t even own any).

These are just a few of my favourites. I’m wearing Maybelline Colour Drama in Red Essential through the whole post.

Look #1

This is such a casual outfit, perfect for a shopping or coffee date. She’s wearing high waisted navy shorts, with a plain white singlet and a grey cardigan. The brown boots and red lips really top this outfit off.

Online Purchases | HAUL

Hey Guys!

As you probably know, or can assume: I LOVE ONLINE SHOPPING. It’s the absolute best, I mean sitting with no pants whilst buying things, is there anything better?

Recently I have collected a few things so I thought I’d share what I got.

Beauty Joint

This was my first purchase from BeautyJoint, despite spending hours at a time putting items into my cart. I’m quite weary when it comes to a new shop for the first time. However, obviously everything was fine and great and I think I am now addicted.

Shipping was super-fast, I live in rural Australia so I expect that parcels take time, especially when coming from the US, but this took around 2 weeks.

I picked up;

LA Girl Pro Conceal
Jordana Extreme Lash Mascara
LA Girl Matte Liquid Lipstick in Instinct
LA Splash Liquid Lipstick in Rose Garden
3 Elf Liquid Lipsticks

Asos

I’m addicted to Asos. I check it constantly, every day, as though it is another social media. They have so many brands and have such a huge range of prices and clothes. I love it.

I got:

This shirt was actually shorts, they sent me the wrong item from the set however, I don’t mind.

A white 70’s style crop with rusty edges.

This checked playsuit/pinafore. I should have looked at this better to see if I would actually wear it. Not sure if I would now that I have it-oh well.

A white and thin black striped dress, which by the way, already has a stain because I am a child and cannot eat properly.

Boohoo

Boohoo has been a little bit of a nemesis of mine in the past, their sizes are always so random! I wanted some skirts though, and these ones were cheap as chips.

I got this Cher from Clueless type one which I am actually in love with! I love the buttons.

I also picked up this mint green plaid one which is stretchy, but does fit well.

I’ve wanted a pair of culottes for so long ever since, StealTheSpotlight has raved about them so I bought this pair however, I just don’t think they look right on me, eh!

Well, there are some of my recent online purchases, what are your fave go-to stores?
