How To: Improve a Black & White Outift

Hello hello. Now, I don’t know about you but I love black and white. In fact, majority of my closet consists of those two colours, and my entire room is based around those colours (you can see a post HERE about it).

I love the fact that they are basic colours that can be matched around and dressed up however I feel like for that day. I thought I’d make a little post on some of the ways that I wear black and white and how I brighten up the outfit.

Firstly, necklaces are a great accessory to add to a basic look. Depending on what type of shirt I’m wearing I usually either choose a slightly bulky higher neck necklace or, when wearing a shirt with a collar, I will just have a little thin necklace poking out. Both looks, I believe, enhances a “classy” look to an otherwise dull outfit.

Another way I improve a black and white outfit, is to choose a bright lip look. If you know me, you’ll know I love red lips: particularly because it goes so well with everything.

(Sorry for the out of focus shot)

Well there you go, just a couple of my tips for improving a black and white based outfit.

Have a good week! x

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara First Impression | REVIEW

Hello all, so today I thought I would do a first impression on the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless mascara.

I bought the bright yellow packaged version although they do have a fully black packaged version. I purchased the colour 001 in Black. There is 10mL in each tube and is described by Rimmel that it gives you “never-ending lashes”.

First Impression?

I don’t particularly like the look of the wand. The bristles are too short and don’t seem to hold very much product. When I applied it, it made my short, stubby eyelashes much longer; despite this it provided a clumpy look. I hate when mascara is clumpy so I will use my fingers to brush out the clumps.

All in all, I would recommend this mascara if you’re aiming for lengthened lashes. This mascara isn’t waterproof and is the first non-waterproof mascara I’ve ever bought. It’s lasted all day without smudging so I am very impressed.

Boohoo Haul

Hey-looo!

I recently received my second boohoo order ever. Boohoo was having a sale of 60% off and I bought three items! The last time I ordered with them, I wasn’t quite disappointed. I believe it was because the items I picked, I decided under pressure. I do this thing where I freak out when I see a sale and I just chuck anything into my basket. I have a problem and need to be stopped (but for now, I’m happy buying things).

Anyway, onto the items:

Links: x / x / (no link sorry as it's out of stock)

Hope you enjoyed this tiny haul, I was extremely impressed with boohoo’s service and how prompt my order arrived. I have to say, boohoo has improved in the two months since I’ve bought from them.

Have a nice week!

June Favourites

Another month, another blogpost. Yes that’s right-It’s favourites time!

This month I have been trialling a heap of new products, despite this, because there’s been so many I don’t believe I have enough experience with them to be in love with them yet.
Anyway: onto the favourites, there isn’t many-sorry!

Lipsticks

I have been loving two lipsticks this month. If you know me, you’ll know how much I adore red lipstick. Rimmel Kate Moss in #107 I believe, is the perfect red colour. Firstly, its matte which I love, and although it is red, It has a darker undertone to it. The second lippy is Revlon Super Lustrous in Blush #420. I very much enjoy lip colours that are basically and enhanced colour of my actual lips and this is the closest and nicest one I’ve come across.

Eyes

Maybelline The Falsies. Tanya Burr raved about this mascara for so long but I never really tried it. Well now that I have, I don’t want to ever buy another type. This mascara enhances your lashes, lengthens them, separates them, and makes them look like false lashes! All whilst staying on your lashes all day! They’re unbelievable and I am incredibly grateful!
Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner: this liner is incredible! I am extremely new to eyeliner and of course, am not very good. This eyeliner is so simple to apply! Its tip is pen-like and very thin. If you are new to liquid liner, I would definitely recommend this one!

Face

I have been searching for a perfect primer and although I am still on the lookout, this one comes close too. It is the Face of Australia Face Base Primer (w/ Vitamin E & Chamomile). I love that primers apply a base before the “artwork is complete” (not insinuating my face is an artwork because it definitely isn’t!) This one I have been loving and us probably my favourite so far.

Well that’s all! All beauty items this month! Hope you enjoyed and I encourage you to try out some of these products!
