MEET: tarliescorner

I have really absolutely loved blogging these last few months. Although I did begin blogging in September last year, I feel like I have only really been serious about it this year. I feel inspired by quite a lot of different bloggers to take my blog seriously and seeing their posts and Instagram’s makes my day. A couple of weeks ago I decided I wanted to interview some bloggers that I loved.

Up first, is Tarlie from tarliescorner.

Tarlie is a 24 year old beauty enthusiast. She is a hardworking, Melbourne situated women who is extremely lovely! She created her blog to share her passions, such as: makeup, fashion, travel, food and design.

Anyway: onto the interview!

1.       When did you start blogging?
I started blogging in Febuary 2014. Before that I had always been interested in the beauty industry & was a regular reader of other bloggers.

2.       What influenced you to begin blogging?
Family & friends have always encouraged my writing, I used to write a lot of stories etc & at one point was planning to use it as a career but then a year or so ago I decided beauty & fashion blogging was something I enjoyed more.

3.      Do you think you will stick to beauty themed posts or will you maybe extend to fashion and/or lifestyle?
I'm already in the process of organising a fashion & lifestyle type segments to my blog. It’s not ready yet but I'm excited to share this with every body.

4.      What do you enjoy doing in your spare time (apart from blogging?)
I like heading to the city or walking through the ranges. Dandenong ranges is stunning, especially in spring & it gives me a chance to sit & relax. In the city I enjoy my shopping & cafes. I have no restraint when it comes to shopping so one hour can turn into a full day very quickly.

5.      Do you think you will begin youtube videos at some point?
I have considered it, but I work full time & it ends up being around 15 hours per day that I'm out of the house. Attempting to schedule in Youtube isn't an option for me right now....but never say never.

6.      What is your most used social media?
100% Instagram... I love seeing others photo's, especially beauty related & it's a great way to communicate with fellow beauty lovers. (A/N: follow Tarlie HERE.)

7.      Since you’ve been blogging for a little while now, what advice do you wish you could’ve known before you began blogging?
Don't let (haters) get to you, on occasion I will have someone comment that I own too much makeup.
At first it got to me but now it comes with the territory. Ignore it. other than that, just continue to love the learning process...its a lot of fun.

8.      What has been one product that you would definitely never purchase again: and warn all of your friends/acquaintances about?
Tough one....I don't have a product I absolutely hate, everyone’s skin takes to products differently. Something I may have hated maybe loved by someone else.   A product that didn't agree with me was the Maybelline - Pore Eraser primer, I had a horrible break out which has never been that bad with anything else I've tried.

9.      If you had to live with only one type of beauty product-which would you choose? (for example: only mascara, or only lipstick)
Blush....I look like a faded ghost without blush & it’s the one product I'm never seen not wearing.

10.   What is your go-to lip product?
A good moisturiser is the key to good soft lips...I prefer using carmex or nivea before applying any lipstick or gloss.

11.    At what age did you begin to be interested in blogging?
when I started reading others. I would have been 21.

12.    Favourite thing about winter?
Oversized jumpers, ugg boots & hot tea....if I had a fire place, it would be added onto my list also.

13.   What is your favourite makeup brand?
I actually don't have a favourite..I love various brands. I've never had one brand that has never disappointed me in one way or another.

14.   One product that you will always swear is Holy Grail?
My L'oreal True Match foundation....it's been a favourite for years, although it doesn't work for everybody, it’s still my favourite drug store foundation.

15.   Where do you see your blog in the future?
Hopefully a lot bigger, I'd love to own my own company that works in the beauty & lifestyle industry. Right now I’m happy with how its progressing & am very excited to see what happens in the future.

Well-there you have it. Thank you to Tarlie for giving up your time to answer some of my questions.

Sundays

Sunday Funday. I don’t know about you, but I love Sundays; waking up late, cooking up a storm for breakfast, lazing around all day, or even being productive and getting things done.
There just always seems to be so much time on Sundays. I feel refreshed and like I can conquer the world. I decided to photograph a “typical” Sunday of mine.
(PS: did I say Sunday enough ?)

I look right scary in this photo oops
Face masks are a great way to get comfy on a Sunday!

I'm not very good at baking but I can rustle up a breaky!
Comfort is #1

Well, that’s all. I have decided on a weekly schedule which I plan to follow next term: Thursdays: beauty and/or fashion post, Sundays: lifestyle post. This gives me order and files nicely in my brain-something I like.

Have a good week!

Physician's Formula Shimmer Strips | REVIEW

Hey again!

When I first made a purchase through iherb.com I wanted to make up $40 so that I could get $10 off-a deal they have. I made a random purchase of the Physicians Formula’s Eye shadows “Shimmer Strips” in Nude. Today, I thought I would give them a mini review and my opinion.

Packaging.

Insanely cute. The outside of it is made up of a light pink material, with lace over the top. It has a small bow that just enhances how adorable this packaging is. It opens and closes easily and tightly as it has a magnet inside.

Eyeshadows.

Although there isn’t an extreme amount of product, it is a nice size-especially when travelling. There are nine different shades, ranging from black to cream. These eyeshadows are hypoallergenic so are great if you have sensitive eyes like me! My favourite colour is the creamy light pink, and the nude/brown. The colour payoff is nice, I usually apply dry which has a softer colour payoff but you can also apply wet.

Overall.

I would definitely purchase this again and definitely suggest it to anyone who needs a palette to carry in their purse, or just wants to try something new.

Mini Chemist Warehouse HAUL

A couple of months ago, I was browsing catelogues and came across one from Chemist Warehouse. I had always known about CW but had never been inside my local one nor had I ever read a catalogue. What struck me was that they sold specific brands of cosmetics at lower prices than I had ever seen! I immediately wanted to go, and before I knew it: I was wanting to go there ALL THE TIME! I held myself back from going too often, in fact, today has been the first time in a little while that I’ve gone.

But yes, this is a haul. I didn’t buy a whole heap of things: but majority of the products I bought, I have wanted to try for a while. Also: they were having 50% off so I mean, I got damn good deals!
So without further ado, (oooh! Fancy!) here is my Chemist Warehouse Haul!

(PS: sorry for the terrible photos, I wasn’t really paying attention sorry)

I Bought (L-R):

Birthday Haul!

Hello!

Well, today is my birthday! I wanted to do a “Birthday Haul” type post. Although I didn’t get a whole lot of presents, I am extremely grateful for what I did get and had a lovely day with my family (and work but I enjoy that too).

So here we go!

P.S: I am not trying to “show off” or brag about anything by showing these, I just want to show them for my sake and to show how appreciative I am of everything I did get.

My wonderful cake-thanks Mum!

I recently bought my first car (this explains all the car related presents!)

My sister and I have a weird sense of humor. I couldn't stop laughing when she gave me this!

I also received a $5o fuel voucher. Not too sure where the photo went-(how mysterious)!

The Fault in our Stars | REVIEW

Hello all!

On Wednesday, I went with two of my friends to see The Fault in our Stars! I read the book around this time in 2012 and I remember when John Green announced that it was going to be a movie-I was so excited!

Although the book is good, it has so much hype around it and I wouldn’t call it THE BEST BOOK EVER like so many people do. Despite this, I felt Josh Boone’s adaptation is so close to the book! It was such an enjoyable movie (I didn’t cry because I was preparing myself for the moment).

The acting was fantastic, I think they chose the characters extremely well and I love that the movie had added humour as well! Ansel Elgort played such a fantastic Gus and don’t even get me started on Shailene Woodley because I literally love her so much.

I would definitely recommend going and seeing the movie, if you’ve read the book or not. Without giving too much away, it’s basically a teenage love story that I feel will be enjoyable to all.

It's definitely one of my new favourite movies!

May Favourites

Heeeello! Well, I need to stop making empty promises… I keep saying that my next post will be a review… well my next post is here… and it isn’t a review.

Anyway, May just ended! I am excited for June, it holds a lot of great things for me (including my birthday in a week!). Throughout May I didn’t try a huge amount of new products, but there are some long time favourites that I’ve still been loving.

These, are my May Favourites.

Australis Colour Inject Lipstick

I got this in Gangsta Rap which I saw beautybybek review this an I thought the name was pretty cool so I tried it. I cannot explain how extremely moisturizing these lippies are for your lips! They feel so nice on and the colour payoff is strong too!

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

I read Eleanor and Park last year/early this year (I can’t remember exactly) after having it in my cupboard for so long-and I was in love. From start to finish it was amazing. I then went and bought Fangirl and it was just as good (but not better. I love E&P too much). I would definitely recommend it, and I can’t wait for Rowell’s new books which comes out very soon!

Beanies!

It is winter at the moment in Australia, and although where I live (Central QLD area) it doesn’t get extremely cold, I think beanies are a great way to just add something to an outfit while still warming yours ears!

Real Techniques Buffing Brush

(The photo I took wasn't nice in the slightest-sorry!)
I don’t have a lot of makeup brush (and I need to invest in more), but I do have a few RT. My favourite is my Buffing Brush, which is in the Core Collection and is what I use to apply foundation, and sometimes blush. I love the curved head and how the bristles are close together.

See? Not too many favourites this month, I promise next month will be better-hopefully!
