My Everyday Makeup Regime

Hello everyone. So today I thought about writing a blogpost on my everyday makeup routine. Now although I am quite interested in makeup I actually don’t wear very much. This is basically just what I like to wear to school or if im doing something casual that requires minimal makeup. So I’ll get started.

Firstly I use the Covergirl Invisible Concealer in Medium Moyen (3177). I bought this a little while back and it’s been quite good to me although when it runs out I think I will be on the search for a new one. To apply this I just dab it in the places I need it and then just dab-blend it with my finger. After that I will brush it over with my concealer brush (I don’t actually know the name or brand of it I’m afraid)

Next I apply my foundation which is currently the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in Ivory. I love the feeling of it on my skin and also it has a very unique smell and at first I was quite put off by it, but it is actually a really nice smell. I apply this with my Bold Thin Lizzy brush although currently I am in the midst of finding the perfect brush.
Lastly I use Covergirl lashblast fusion mascara in Very Black. I’m going to be honest, I would not buy this again, it’s too clumpy for my liking although the upside it is water resistant and does last all day.
So this is all the makeup I use for my everyday makeup. I am aware it isn’t much but it’s all I think I need while at school.

Holiday In The Sun

Holidays are so great especially if it has been awhile since you have had time to just chill out and be yourself. Last weekend my family and I drove 4 hours to my Aunty and cousins house, which is at the beach. It was so much fun and while I was there I took some photos that I thought I would share with you. So I hope you enjoy.

September Favourites

Well it is another month how exciting. This year feels like it has seriously flown by. I decided that my monthly favourite’s is going to become a “thing”. This month I’ve had quite a few favourites as I have been going away and it has also been extremely hot here in Australia.

Firstly, I would describe myself as quite a creative person who has a lot of ideas (at extremely bad times *cough* three a.m. with school the next day.) Anyway, I always write down my ideas or just the little things that pop into my head and this month I bought a new ideas book. I got it from a store called typo which is this cute little franchise store linked with cotton on. Every time I enter this store I feel so inspired and I don’t know why it’s just such vibrant comfortable place to be. I’m off topic but this notebook was on sale and I just couldn’t resist snapping it up. It is a hardcover which I find are better as if I accidentally step on it, it won’t damage.

Next is my favourite electronic item. As I said earlier I went away recently to the beach to visit relatives and as I didn’t particular feel like taking my “big” camera I just took this small one. I hadn’t used it in a while (as I am so dumb and lose chargers all the time) and it re-reminded me how great it is. It’s a Nikon Coolpix and it definitely does take cool pics (I hate myself). This camera is waterproof and shockproof which is extra handy while on holiday.

Now to the beauty area. I needed a new foundation and was “trialling” a few for a while and finally, I found one I am absolute in love with. It’s the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in Ivory 100. This foundation makes me skin feel “together” which is a strange way to put it but the only way I think I can. It is very light on my skin and blends in really well overall.
As I said earlier, it has been extremely hot weather and what comes in handy is to have a good pair of sunglasses. I recently bought a pair that were very plain and boring but fame my face quite well and don’t make me look funny. I don’t know this branding as they were very cheap and I think they are unbranded.
Well those are just some of my favourites of mine for this month. I have a lot of ideas for my blog this month so posts should be more regular.

Book Recommendations

Hello again. Sorry it has been awhile my computer was having some mishaps with open a word document-I was extremely angry. Anyway, I have a lot of ideas for different posts I can do and I am excited to show them to you all. This post I’m going to tell you about my favourite books as, if you didn't know, I absolutely love reading.

I’m going to start with a typical one that everyone knows. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. This book, in my opinion, is the teensy bit overrated. I have heard a lot of people say how absolutely incredible it is and that it’s the best book ever. Yes, it is a great book and an easy read, but I would never call it “the best book ever”. Don’t get me wrong, I do love it I just don’t think it lives quite up the hype. Also, the movie is being filmed at the moment which I am insanely excited for.

Next is The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han. As you could’ve guessed, it’s about a former unattractive girl who suddenly becomes desirable within the course of one summer. This is such as simple book but I love it. It’s a series although I have only read the first book. I would recommend this to anyone of any age as, literally, it is a very easy read. It is a very girly book so if you don’t usually enjoy the type you probably wouldn't like it.

Next is Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn. Obviously this was co-written and although some co-written books turn out extremely bad this worked really well. The entire book is based on only one night. It has already been made into a movie and I would also recommend the movie as it is actually I very accurate representation of the book. (also Michael Cera stars in it-need I say more?) Yes but overall really incredible book.

I saved the best until last. Go Ask Alice by Anonymous. This book is made up of segments of a girls diary and shows her experiences with drugs. This book is so real and detailed (although at sometimes not due to her being high while writing). After reading this book I felt everything as well as nothing. It is indescribable to say the least. This would be the book that I recommend the most as it is the definition of incredible.

So these are just a few of my favourite books that I felt like sharing with you. I hope you do consider reading them, or maybe you already have.

My Favourite Things- August Edition!

My Favourite Things- August Edition!

I have a lot of favourite things for this month but I only chose a few as this might’ve been an extremely long post!
Green Tea Moisturizer-Proactive
Firstly, I am literally in love with this it is definitely the best moisturizer I have ever used! It’s the Green Tea Moisturizer by Rodan & Fields (Proactive). It smells like green tea, which smells really good. This came free in a huge pack of Proactive I bought awhile back and I never took notice until recently when I tried it and literally fell in love. Although, it is a really tiny tube so I will have to find it online somewhere.

Next is my absolute favourite thing. My royal blue low cut Converse. These are the most comfy shoes ever. I love converse but these were my first low cuts. I bought them online on a one day sale site where they were $50.

This month my favourite movie was Moulin Rouge!, I watched it for the first time in my Film class and although I was confused at the beginning and a tiny bit put off with how huge and dramatic the costumes were, but this is my new favourite film. I do think the ending went longer than it should’ve but overall amazing film.

Last, but definitely not least is my favourite electronic device. It’s my camera, I am absolutely in love with it, it is perfect. It’s a Nikon D3100 and I got the twin lens pack. This photo I thought was kind of artsy, although all it is, is my sisters insanely dirty mirror.

So yes that’s some of my favourite things this month.

Nice For No Reason

I was inspired by ItsWayPastMyBedTime (Carrie Hope Fletcher) to write about being nice for no reason. (You can watch Carrie's video if you continue reading).

What is with unnecessary nasty comments that are spoken? Okay sure maybe you have an opinion about something but that doesn't give you the permission to throw it in someone’s face. Being a pleasant person is a simple thing to do but for some reason, there aren't enough of them. I understand that not everyone is gifted with being an overly nice person, I myself struggle to ever be out there kind. But I am pleasant; I shut up and don’t say anything. Nobody would say I was mean but then again I don’t think anyone would ever really class me as “nice”. It is tiny, snarky comments that I overhear that get to me.

pohutukawa flower in New Zealand-2011
Do people require to outwardly notice a flaw in someone? Because I am sure they already know. Does pointing out the fact that yes, I don’t have nice skin make you feel better? IT doesn't boost your popularity and it certainly doesn't make you look like a better person. It makes you look pathetic. And even though some others may laugh, I’m sure they’re astonished at how inconsiderate you are.

What all this ramble basically is: why are people mean for no reason? Next time you go to make a snarky comment on something about someone, or you overhear one being made, stop it before it occurs. It’s as simple as that.

First Blog Post

Hello to whoever reading this. My name is Kelsie and I enjoy writing and photography. I am extremely excited to get started on this blog as it is my next project. I'm not quite sure what to include in my first blog post but I will say that this blog isn't going to be a specific type (as in i'm not only going to talk about fashion and/or beauty).

2011 daisy chain snap

As a fun way to introduce myself I thought I would say 10 things about me.

10 Things About Me
1. I am a born and raised New Zealander although I live in Australia now
2. I am 16 years old
3. I really dislike school not because of the learning part because I actually really enjoy that, but waking up every morning wanting to shoot yourself in the neck is not a good feeling towards something.
4. I spend too much time on the internet.
5. I absolutely can't stand people giving me compliments because I don't know how to react and come across as if I hate them simply due to the fact that I freeze up.
6. I hate hugs
7. My favourite food is bacon
8. Whenever I'm watching a movie on my laptop I cannot just sit and watch I have to draw or something.
9. I am very untalented
10. I finish school next year and I am very excited!

So there you are, 10 facts you didn't know about me (which you probably don't care anyway). What do you think is the most interesting fact about yourself? I found it quite difficult to think of some.

Anyway, if you did read too here, thank you! (I will give you cookies)
